Taking It Home 1st- 2nd Grade for May 13 Overview Today we read, Love You Forever by Robert Munsch. The mother sings to her sleeping baby: "I'll love you forever / I'll love you for always / As long as I'm living / My baby you'll be." She still sings the same song when her baby has turned into a 2-year-old, a 9- year-old, and then a teen. Then, inevitably, the day comes when she's too old and sick to hold him, and the roles are at last reversed. The love a child and mother share is one of the great wonders of life. One of Unitarian Universalism’s sources is “personal experience with wonder.” Today, we made Mother’s day presents to show our mother’s how much we love them.
Bring It Home Celebrate Mother’s day today and the rest of the week! Reminder: We need a white T-shirt for your child by May 20th if s/he wants to tie-dye a Chalice at our end of the year party. Make sure to write your last name in permanent marker on the tag. |
