MITTEN TREE - SOUTH AVONDALE SCHOOL

Purpose

Our Avondale neighborhood has children who lack adequate winter clothing.  This is one small way that we can share our riches with our neighbors.

Background

This has been a holiday tradition at First for over twenty years. We place a holiday tree in the sanctuary for our children and adults to “decorate” with  mittens, hats, scarves, etc. which are then brought to South Avondale school for distribution.

Current Activity

The Mitten Tree is done annually at a December worship service.
