You'll notice
Phil will be here for only one concert, the first one, December 2nd. He will
be traveling and studying in Brazil on a Fulbright Scholarship during the
remainder of the season.
Some members of
Phil's trio will appear with Rusty Burge, vibraphonist, on the second
concert, January 20, 2008. Rusty performed in a previous season to a
totally enthusiastic audience, and we're delighted to have him back.
Some of you
oldsters will remember Kraig Greff as the pianist who inspired us back in
1990 to begin this annual series of concerts. He performed here in
Cincinnati and Dayton for several years, but moved to Baltimore in 1992 and
opened his own recording studio while concurrently building up a following
for his performances. He frequently plays, and very convincingly in jazz
style, the accordion! His vocalist while in Cincinnati was Nancy Nolan, and
she has graciously agreed to a return engagement. You may know Nancy as a
booking agent for musicians, and also as the organizer of the Chamber Music
Network of Cincinnati, of which Acoustic Chamber Jazz is a member. Their
concert in the Series will be on March 2, 2008.
