General Information
- Acoustic space
make this Sanctuary an excellent performance space. Other chamber groups,
folk music groups, and choirs use the space for rehearsal and/or
performance.
- Special programs sponsored in the past
include: Jim Scott, Nick Page, Shelley Denham, Wm. Albright, Tom Benjamin.
Guest artists often perform at Sunday services.
- Commissions: Every so often, the church
commissions a choral composition. Past composers include Lew Whikehart,
Daniel Pinkham, Jean Berger, Richard Monaco, Jeno Takacs, and Shelley
Denham
- Utilization of Volunteers: for special
instrumental performances and for our summer services. Many
instrumentalists, vocalists, & pianists volunteer their talents to further
the worship experience with a variety of styles and literature. Youth of
church frequently contribute.
Adult Choir
- The number in the
adult choir ranges from about 24 to 36.
- All are volunteers, most can read music
- Practice is on Thursday at 7:30 and on
Sunday at 9:30
- Occasionally travels internationally.
Past trips include: Europe 81, Australia 92, England 96
- Occasionally does choir exchanges &
collaborations
