 Reverend Sharon K. Dittmar, Senior Minister -- came to First Unitarian in 1998 after one year as interim minister at the Northern Hills Fellowship (UU, Cincinnati). She earned a B.A. from the University of Massachusetts in history and a Master’s from Harvard Divinity School. As senior minister, Reverend Dittmar actively participates in local social
justice issues and is well-known for her preaching. She is married with a son, stepson and stepdaughter.

 Meredith Plummer, Director of Religious Education -- is a second-generation Unitarian Universalist. Throughout her childhood she attended Heritage Universalist Unitarian Church in Anderson Township. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Miami University in December, 2008, with a B.S. in education. Meredith came to First Unitarian Church in 2009 with 8 years’ experience working with children and youth, and 2 years in management. One day, she would like to add a Unitarian Universalist daycare or school to First Church.

 Ed Rider, Interim Facilities Manager -- Ed has been a member of First church for over 35 years and is recently retired from Procter & Gamble. Ed has served on a number of church committees over the years and is serving as the the volunteer facilities manager for this church year.

 Reverend Frank W. Carpenter, Assistant Minister -- was born in Salem, Massachusetts. He earned a B.S. from MIT and graduated from Meadville/Lombard Theological School with a Doctor of Ministry degree. Reverend Carpenter has served UU congregations in New Hampshire, Texas, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Cleveland, and Cincinnati at St. John’s Unitarian before coming to First Church in October 2011. He enjoys history, has taught American History at UC’s OLLI, and is researching his father’s career in the American occupation of the Philippine Islands.

 Jera Cox, Music Director -- grew up in Bryan, Ohio and became a church keyboardist at the age of 13. After moving to Cincinnati to attend CCM, Jera worked with many community theater groups as music director. She became keyboardist and music director at Hartzell United Methodist Church. After marriage, raising children, and divorce, Jera completed her B.A. degree in music from Xavier University. She recently earned a master’s degree in secondary education while completing requirements for teaching certification in Music K-12. She is the band director at Reading Community Schools and has 11 violin and piano students. Jera came to First Unitarian Church in November, 2010 as keyboardist, and became Interim Music Director in July, 2011.

 Jennifer Van Fleet, Office Administrator -- graduated from the University of Cincinnati in 2012 with a B.A. in English, specializing in literary criticism. Born and raised in Cincinnati, she has worked for a law firm, St. Vincent de Paul, and a hotel chain. Jenn enjoys photography, reading, cooking, being outdoors and traveling.
