We are a caring Unitarian Universalist community in the centrally located Avondale neighborhood of Cincinnati. We meet in a warm and graceful building, built circa 1889, for worship services that nourish spiritual growth and learning throughout life. A self-governed congregation, we are an active force for personal and societal growth through a variety of activities that serve our members and our community.
Established in 1830, we have been an important part of the history of Cincinnati ever since. We strive to carry on the tradition of First Unitarian members throughout the years who have championed individual and civil rights, led educational and civic reform, and worked to promote justice in daily affairs. We seek to be Radically Inclusive, and are constantly looking for ways to extend our welcome to all people.

Our country. Our community. Through music (Barry Green) and drama (Jerome Yorke) and wisdom (yours truly), you’ll leave full hearted with mended wings. You might even learn to fly! July 27 "A Religious Look at Dracula" Rev. Dennis McCarty NOTE: 10:30 a.m. service at First Unitarian Church Rev. Dennis McCarty will return to our pulpit to share "A Religious Look at Dracula." Bram Stoker's 1896 novel, Dracula, has become a classic of horror fiction. Yet vampire stories have changed a great deal from Stoker's era to ours: vampires have shape-shifted in ways far more profound than just changing into bats. Rev. McCarty's analysis will provide surprising insights into both Stoker's culture and also trends in present-day American culture. It will make for an enjoyable--and surprisingly relevant--look at more than a century of vampire evolution. Events and Activities
