Unitarian Universalists are committed to welcoming and affirming people of all abilities. On Sundays, greeters are available at our Linton Street entrance to welcome you and help you find your way. There is a drop-off area at the door. During weekday office hours, staff members or volunteers are onsite to answer questions and get you connected with church programs and meetings.
Accessible Parking
There are two handicapped spaces in the parking lot across the street from the Linton Street entrance. There are also some curbside parking spots on Linton Street, and an accessible, curb-free drop-off area at the entrance. Wheelchair The Linton Street entrance is accessible by wheelchair. Meeting rooms and the Sanctuary are also accessible. The elevator to the left of the entrance goes to all building levels. All restrooms are wheelchair accessible. If you need a wheelchair to use while you are visiting, we have one for you to use while you’re here. Sanctuary To access the Sanctuary’s assistive listening system, please request headphones and/or assistance from an usher at the entrance to the sanctuary. Audio from the service is also played over speakers in other areas of the building for those who leave the sanctuary. Additionally, our podium is wheelchair accessible. Accommodations for the Visually Impaired The entire service, including words to hymns and other service-related content, is projected onto a large screen in the Sanctuary. This content is saved and archived each Sunday. It's available via our livestream YouTube channel. Restrooms Gender-neutral restrooms are located on the second level, which is accessible by elevator. Food There is food and drink available at many of our community gatherings. We always offer a vegetarian (not vegan) option if a dinner is provided and we encourage members to bring vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free dishes to potlucks. “When First Unitarian says “Bring your whole self here,” we mean everybody. All races, classes, gender identities, sexual orientations, abilities and “disabilities,” friends and foes make up our Beloved Community in the way that Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. meant.” – Linnea Lose, Opening Hearts Team |
