Adult Education at First Unitarian Church is broadly based, including spirituality (the study of sacred texts and spiritual practices), Unitarian Universalism and its adherents (e.g., Ralph Waldo Emerson and Louisa May Alcott), philosophy (from Greek thought to the existentialists), as well book studies and discussion groups about current affairs and other matters.
Our Adult SessionsOur adult education offerings primarily occur on Monday evenings, during one six-week semester in autumn and one six-week semester in spring, sometimes in person and sometimes via Zoom. At times, offerings occur on other days of the week; for instance, a one-day spiritual study and practice retreat may occur on a Saturday, a movie viewing and discussion may occur on a Friday evening, or a forum may occur following church on Sunday.
The details of our upcoming autumn 2025 offerings are still being developed, but you can find a quick list of them here in the meantime.
