Our Heart & Hand Auction is Back!

Picture

Join us on Saturday, November 15, 2025, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The Heart & Hand Auction is a great time to get to know members of our beloved community and bid on food, art, gift certificates, services, and events that will fill your social calendar for the year to come.

This year, we will have three auctions:
  • An Online Auction before our Saturday event
  • A Silent Auction at First Unitarian Church on November 15, 5:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m.
  • A Live Auction at First Unitarian Church on November 15, Begins at 7 p.m.

New this year, we will be selling tickets for a Special Evening of Dinner and Entertainment on Saturday, February 7! Look forward to a catered meal, live entertainment, and lots of fun, with plenty of room for all. We will sell tickets for this event on Sundays at First Unitarian Church before the Auction and during the Auction.
What kinds of things will there be to bid on?
Thanks to the generosity of our members, there will be a variety of items to bid on at different price points. Past offerings have included:
  • Items (such as art, handmade jewelry, and goods)
  • Food (such as pies, cookies, honey, and jams)
  • Service (such as labor, lessons, and learning opportunities)
  • Gift cards (to sporting events, concerts, and vacation getaways)
  • Events (such as meals, tours, and parties)
  • And more!

Before the Auction, we will email a catalog of items you can bid on in our different auctions. We will also have paper catalogs for you to look at at our table outside the sanctuary before the Auction.

Proceeds from the Auction are an important source of income for the church:

  • 80% will go toward the capital fund
  • 10% will go toward the operating budget
  • 10% will be donated to social justice organizations

How can I help?

  • Sign up to volunteer here! Volunteer to help during the auction. Youth volunteers are most welcome!
  • Bring an hors d’oeuvre, munchie, or dessert to be served at the auction.

FAQs

Where do the items come from?
Your generosity! We hope everyone can donate their time, talent, and treasures. Simply fill out our online donation form.

What happens at the Online Auction?
We will send you a link to the Online Auction once it's live. Items in the Online Auction won’t be available at the Silent or Live Auctions. Bidding for the Online Auction will end before the Silent and Live Auctions begin. The Online Auction is open to all, and great for those who can’t make it to our in-person Auctions.

What happens at the Silent Auction?
The Silent Auction will take place at First Unitarian Church on Saturday, November 15. The doors open at 5:30 p.m., giving you plenty of time to look at all the offerings. The lobby and Ellen Hall Room will be filled with tables and displays of things to bid on. While placing bids, you can enjoy complimentary hors d’oeuvres, desserts, and drinks. You can also buy tickets for Heads & Tails and our Restaurant Raffle, which will take place during the Live Auction. Silent bidding ends at 6:45 p.m., so be sure to arrive in plenty of time to look at the offerings.

What happens at the Live Auction?
Once the Silent Auction ends, the Live Auction begins in the sanctuary. We kick things off with a game of Heads and Tails, with a lucky winner taking home a pile of cash. The auctioneers’ and audience’s banter will keep you laughing. Everyone who comes to the auction will be entered into a free raffle for two seats at a Live Auction dinner or party of their choice. Interspersed between the bids are drawings for winners of the Restaurant Raffle.

What is the Restaurant Raffle?
Tickets will be on Sundays at church before the Auction, as well as the night of the auction. Tickets are $5 for 1 chance or $20 for 5 chances. Winners receive a $50, $75, or $100 gift card to great Cincinnati restaurants. Winners need not be present to win, but only if you are present do you get to choose the restaurant you’d like.

Is Childcare Provided?
Yes! Contact [email protected] for reservations. Reservations aren’t required, but will help to ensure we are appropriately staffed.

What if I don’t have much money to spend?
There will be a wide range of prices to fit any budget. If you can’t spend anything, you’ll still have a lot of fun at our Silent and Live Auctions, meeting fun and interesting people, and enjoying great food.
