We are an active, friendly, liberal religious community coming together for Sunday Services. We share key values and welcome diverse beliefs. We encourage you—whether single or a family—to visit us, connect, and engage in the many opportunities for spiritual experiences and service that this congregation has to offer. Come one, come all.
We invite you to bring your whole self: your full identity, your questioning mind, and your expansive heart to First Unitarian and to share in the celebration of life’s journey. We cherish human diversity, the differences in sex, age, race, ethnicity, national origin, range of abilities, sexual orientation, gender identity, financial means, education, theology, and political perspective that make each member of our community uniquely themselves. Wherever you are on the spectrum of beliefs and spiritual practices, you are welcome here. Our members search for truth in many ways. From the earliest days of Unitarian and Universalist theologies through the humanist movement of the 20th century, UUs have debated the nature of the divine and of human purpose. Celebrations and Rites of Passage If you or your family are in need of a place to honor one of life’s milestones, please read about opportunities to celebrate Rites of Passage at the church. First Unitarian offers child dedication ceremonies (in lieu of baptisms or christenings), weddings for heterosexual as well as same-sex couples, interfaith weddings, and atheist weddings. We offer memorial services and funerals where we remember, mourn, and celebrate as a community. |
“One of my ongoing delights about being a Unitarian Universalist minister is watching visitors encounter their first UU church service and saying, 'This is so different from anything I've experienced in other churches. I will definitely be back' ” – Dr. Alexander Riegel, Developmental Minister You can sign up for many events through links in our calendar. For others, please email the team sponsoring the event.
